RACING

PAE has been involved with racing for all of its 20 plus years in business. In the mid eighties, Paul successfully campaigned his infamous 1965 coupe in local drag races & autocrosses.

In the early nineties PAE found itself building several of the top road race Mustangs running in the Track Time Driving Schools & helping countless local drag racers. Later in that decade, PAE stepped up involvment with SCCA racing helping several GT2 competitors campaign their Sunbeam Tigers. That effort peaked with a national championship in the GT2 class in 2000 for Tom Patton.

In April of 2001, PAE helped make history when “Project Mondo Stocker” of 5.0 Mustang & Super Ford magazine fame laid down an 8.79 second E.T. @ 156 MPH to become the first magazine sponsored car to bridge the 8 second zone.

In 2002 PAE was making history again, building the “fastest street driven cobra in the world” as described by 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords. The last few years have been a great success, but none greater than 2004.

In 2004 PAE became involved with the National Auto Sport Association {N.A.S.A}, competing in the American Iron road racing series.

We have had considerable success, with PAE powered, and sponsored cars winning regional championships as follows:

* 2004- American Iron, and the EO endurance series

*2005- American Iron Extreme

*2006- American Iron Extreme, and American Iron Vintage

In Sept. 2006, NASA held their inaugural National Championship, at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. PAE was well represented with Jason Andrew, running AI, and Paul, and Mickey Remen running AIX.

Jason Andrew, dominated the AI class, winning both qualifying races, and led the Championship Race, flag to flag. Congratulations Jason.

When it was announced that there would not be an AIV class, Paul and his son Brian thrashed for a week to set his 65 mustang up for the AIX class. Although his car was 400 lbs. heavy, he finished 2nd, in both qualifying races, which earned him pole position for the big race. Although a tire problem ended Paul’s race early, it was still quite satisfying to have PAE cars leading the race in both AI classes.

2007 is shaping up to be another great year in American Iron for PAE, with Paul Faessler, Elliot Fisher, and Mickey Remen, running AIX, and Jason Andrew running AI. With this great team, we are preparing to make another strong run at the National Championships. See you at the track.
