PAE’s 2017 Season Recap
The 2017 year was another dominating year for PAE. The 2017 race season was more of a focus on Time Attack season and continually updating the car to make it faster against lighter, and well-developed purpose built TA cars.
Super Unlimited: Brian was able to win the only two races he ran in SU all year, including the first race when Brian spun on the second lap, fell back to last overall, and still was able to win overall.
Time Trial Unlimited: In the two weekends Brian ran TTU, he was able to come home with 4 out of 4 wins, while setting the fastest NASA lap at the new Pittsburgh International Race Complex, and set two of the 10 season track records in TTU.
AIX: Paul ran 4 AIX races this year in his ’65 Mustang and won 3 of the 4 races, and was leading the 4th race until his transmission exploded on the last lap
Global Time Attack and Gridlife: We won the Pro-Comp National Championship with the Global Time Attack as well as winning the Unlimited RWD National championship with Gridlife. Setting 6 track records throughout the 4 events we went to with 5 wins and a 2nd place finish.
Our last event of the year was at the Motovicity Speed Ring event where we brought both cars to the very tight and small M1 Concourse track. We were able to bring the cars in 1st and 2nd in Unlimited RWD and Detroit Muscle and finished 4thand 8th overall for the weekend with another track-record.
Throughout the year we made very good gains on the small, tighter tracks that didn’t suit our heavy, long wheel-based car and at the end of the season we were on par with the lighter and more nimble TA cars.
After the successful season, PAE came home with 17 wins out of 19, with one 2nd place and a 3rd place, and also having set 10 track records through out the year. Big things are already in the works for our 2018 year and are looking to make the cars even faster. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for more up to date posts!
